In 2001, the Leonberger Club of America established a Versatility titling program designed to recognize those Leonbergers who truly exemplify the spirit of a "working Leonberger". The Leonberger is an incredible breed, one that with patience, enthusiasm and a lot of practice can excel at almost anything sport it puts its mind to. As the breed has grown in popularity, we have seen LCA owners and their Leonbergers competing (and excelling) in the sports of obedience, conformation, agility, water work and draft work. It is quite an accomplishment with a large breed, to title at any level in any of the above sports but it an extraordinary accomplishment to title in multiple venues of dog sporting competition!
To earn an LCA Versatility title at any level is an incredible achievement! We hope that this program inspires all Leonberger owners to strive to bring out the best in themselves and their Leonbergers. Training and competing with your Leonberger is a bond that is hard to describe. The sense of satisfaction of working together, to make each other better and achieve the goals you have set for each other is truly amazing.
LCA-sanctioned titles accepted as qualifications for the Versatility program are: LCA Ch. or LCA CC, LCA Agility, LCA Obedience, LCA Water Work, LCA Draft titles.

No submissions are required for Versatility Titles. These titles will be automatically awarded when the LCA Points Secretary verifies other titles.
(VL) Versatile Leonberger: Any Leonberger that earns LCA titles in two different venues shall be awarded the title of Versatile Leonberger.
(VLA) Versatile Leonberger Advanced: Any Leonberger that earns three LCA titles in at least two different venues, one of which may be advanced, shall be awarded the title of Versatile Leonberger Advanced.
(VLX) Versatile Leonberger Excellent: Any Leonberger that earns LCA titles in either two different venues where both are advanced, or in three different venues where one must be advanced, shall be awarded the title of Versatile Leonberger Excellent.
There are many, many wonderful Leonbergers in this world but only very special Leonbergers belong to this club...
