We wish that everyone could have been here to attend this very special National Specialty & 20th Anniversary celebration of the Leonberger Club of America. The amount of work and planning that went into making this event a success was clearly evident in how smoothly everything took place.
A huge Thank You to Waltraut Zieher, Kelly Schlesinger, Ann Duyster, Lee & Mary Norwood, Stephanie Meadows, Teri Whalen, Nan Martin, Don James, Geeske Joel, and Wendy Jones. Special thanks to Rick Smith, Emile Duyster, Cyd Erich, Geeske Joel, and Agi Hejja for the photos on this site.
Waltraut: We are all thinking of you. Thank you so much for all the countless hours we know you put into making this Specialty a success!
On the evening of 3/30/05, the Leonberger Club of America suffered a terrible tragedy.
The daughter & granddaughter of Waltraut Zieher,
the 2005 National Specialty Chair and an LCA founder, passed away.
Waltraut's daughter, Ute Jung, and granddaughter, Seven,
grew up with Leonbergers and with the LCA.
A memorial fund has been set up with the Leonberger Health Foundation
(of which Ute was a founding member) to accept donations in Ute and Seven's memory.
Words cannot begin to describe how much sorrow we feel at this time.
